With a selection of stunning locations to visit and many must-see attractions on your list, make your way from Cape Town to Oudtshoorn, Knysna, Port Elizabeth, and finally Kwantu Game Reserve. Along with your trip, you’ll make stops at places such Cape Town for a full day tour, a drive through Little Karoo and Barrydale, and a stop at the Safari Ostrich Farm and Cango Caves. Plettenberg Bay, Tsitsikamma National Park, and Storms River mouth are also suggested stops towards the end of your Garden Route experience.
One of the main highlights is your luxury stay at the Kwantu Game Reserve, an African reserve of superior distinction. Located in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, surrounded by 6000 hectares, the Kwantu Game Reserve is a Big 5 area and is a destination that will provide an authentic safari adventure. Here you will take part in certain activities and enjoy the luxury lodge. Kwantu Game Reserve is also home to Kwantu Elephant Sanctuary, the Education, and Rehabilitation Centre as well as a Reptile Centre.

Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by your English speaking guide and transferred to the hotel for check-in. Enjoy dinner at a local halal restaurant and overnight at the 5* Taj Cape Town.
After breakfast, meet your guide for a full day Cape Town experience. Travel by cable car to the top of Table Mountain (weather permitting) then descend visiting the Malay Quarter, the Castle of Good Hope, the Diamond Works and the Milnerton area and photograph Table Mountain from across Table Bay.
In the afternoon, enjoy a unique interaction and experience the cultural diversity of the Cape Malay community, descendants of the original Malay slaves. We start outside the Bo-Kaap Museum in the heart of the Cape Malay Quarter. Your story-telling host will then guide you on an entertaining walking tour giving you insights into the historical and architectural landscape that adds so much colour and character to Cape Town’s City Bowl. The highlight of this experience is enjoying an authentic home-cooked halaal dinner at the gracious home of your host family.
After breakfast, your car rental will be dropped off at your hotel. Depart Cape Town heading East along the Garden Route independently. Before you travel, we’ll provide you with a driving map, halal friendly guide to South Africa and all the information you need to enjoy one of the world’s most scenic drives.
Pass through Stellenbosch, Little Karoo, and Barrydale on the way to Oudtshoorn, located south of the Swartberg Nature Reserve. Check in to Hlangana Lodge in Oudtshoorn where you’ll spend the night.

Start the day with a scrumptious breakfast at the lodge and for other meals, there are a variety of award-winning restaurants within walking distance.
After breakfast, you will visit an Ostrich Farm for a guided tour. The Safari Ostrich Farm is a working ostrich farm in the popular town of Oudsthoorn on the celebrated Garden Route. It was established in 1956 and has been delighting visitors ever since. It is often referred to as a must-see. On a guided tour, you will learn and see all the aspects of ostrich farming as well as the ostriches themselves. Everything from the miracle of hatching to the incubator room is shown and experienced. The Safari Ostrich Farm is also home to the beautiful and rare White Ostrich.
You then enjoy a tour of the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculpted by nature through the ages. Oudtshoorn’s famous Cango Caves can be explored on a guided tour (all guides are accredited) lasting for an hour and leaving every hour on the hour from 9:00 to 16:00 each day. This is one of Africa’s most spectacular natural formations with vast caverns, beautiful, delicate and sometimes majestic stalagmites and stalactites and dripstone caverns.
In the late afternoon, travel to Knysna and check in to the Rex Hotel where you will stay for 2 nights.
Spend the day at leisure exploring the quaint town of Knysna. You will enjoy an afternoon cruise on board the John Benn. The John Benn is a beautiful double-decker floating restaurant that offers daily lagoon cruises to the Knysna Heads. After your cruise, head back to the hotel for the night.
Today you will visit Tsitsikamma National Park – Storms River Mouth. Depart Knysna to Port Elizabeth on the way stopping at Plettenberg Bay, Tsitsikamma National Park, and Storms River mouth.
The Storms River Mouth in the Tsitsikamma forms part of the Garden Route National Park. This is one of South Africa’s most diverse and protected natural areas that is a narrow band of about 150 kilometres along the South Cape Coast. There are rich marine protected areas, deep gorges, rock pools, and waterfalls; it’s pure and natural nirvana. One of the many highlights in this area is the 77m long suspension bridge that crosses the Storms River Mouth. This bridge is famous in this part of the world and has striking gorge views and the bridge leads to a path that takes you to a popular lookout point. This suspension bridge sways a little in the wind and is an exhilarating experience.
Arrive in Port Elizabeth, check in at the hotel and spend some time at leisure. Your car rental will be collected from your hotel.
Meet your driver and depart for Kwantu Game Reserve by private transfer, located in a 6000 hectare Big 5 reserve. This is the ideal place to view the big five and a memorable safari experience. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch before heading out on your first game drive. (Please note: Lunch on day of arrival not included and at an additional cost payable at the lodge)
Return to the lodge and enjoy your halal dinner.
An early rise for your second game drive in the park to search for wildlife in their natural habitat before returning for breakfast. There is plenty to do at Kwantu including visiting the Reptile Centre or enjoying a spot of bird watching. Enjoy your third game drive in the afternoon before returning to the lodge for dinner.
After breakfast, transfer to Port Elizabeth Airport for your flight out.
