23rd July : Departing from a selection of airports in the UK including London Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol, we will fly to Naples on the Italian coast. Transfer to the MSC Seaview and embark for a 7.30pm departure and sail overnight.

24th July : This morning we will dock in Messina on the island of Sicily at 8.00am. For those new to cruising, you can enjoy your time on the ship, head out at your leisure or join one of our private shore excursions. All our shore excursions are designed for Muslim travellers in mind, so you’re not simply following the hundreds of people heading out on tours from the ship!

Arriving in the ‘land of the Godfather’ our excursion takes you to Mount Etna, the tallest active volcano in Europe and is in an almost constant state of activity. Standing more than 3,300 meters (10,922 feet) high, the fertile volcanic soils support extensive agriculture and orchards spread across the lower slopes of the mountain and the broad Plain of Catania to the south. After, we will head to the picturesque village of Taormina, where you will discover a 3rd century Greek theater, the largest in Sicily after Syracuse. Walk along Corso Umberto, formerly the ancient Roman street Valeria with some time to enjoy the placid streets or do a spot of shopping. A short stop to pray at the Centro Islamico Culturale di Messina will also be included.

Back on board, set sail overnight to Valletta, Malta

25th July : Arriving at 8.00am our shore excursion takes us on a historical tour of the three most significant cities in Maltese history, as Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua and have provided a home and fortress to almost every people who settled on the Islands. During the tour we will stop at the only masjid on the island, the Islamic Centre of Paola.

Return to the ship and set sail in the evening.

26th July : Day at sea to enjoy the activities on board the MSC Seaview from the Aquapark, children’s clubs or the spa facilities to name a few.

27th July : Arriving into Barcelona at 9.00am, our excursion takes in the best of this beautiful city. Your day starts with a tour of Passeig de Gracia to see Antoni Gaudi’s Casa Mila which was named a UNESCO World Heritage building, considered one of the most influential architects of his generation. From there, an air-conditioned coach will take you up the coast of Barcelona for scenic views of the Mediterranean Sea, before driving by the Arc of the Triomf, Ciudadela Park, the Olympic Village, the Olympic Port, the beach and the fisherman’s quarter, called Barceloneta. For those who are interested, we can organise a stop at the Camp Nou (entry fee extra) for a tour of one of the world’s most famous football stadiums.

In the afternoon we will stop at a local masjid for prayers before some free time at the famous Las Ramblas to shop and walk at your leisure. Return to the ship and set sail to Marseille, France.

28th July : Our shore excursion in today is in the second largest city in France and was the European Capital of Culture in 2013. Your trip begins in Marseille’s historical center. Walk along the Vieux Port dotted with shops and restaurants while your guide reveals the port’s journey from a 6th century trade post to the area’s hub of maritime activity in the 19th century. From there you will head to the colonnade-lined Palais Longchamp at the terminus of the Durance River. Continue on to the stunning Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde. Situated on the foundation of an ancient fort, this building rests on the highest elevation in the city overlooking Marseille.

Jummah prayers at a local masjid before returning to the ship and depart in the late afternoon to Genoa, Italy

29th July : Arriving into Genoa, we’ll head inland to experience the Italian villages of Portofino and Santa Margherita. A relaxing 30-40 minute drive will bring us to Rapallo from where we take a brief drive along the ‘Golden Sun Road’ towards the sophisticated resort town of Santa Margherita. A short 10 minute cruise to Portofino gives us the opportunity to view the stunning little inlets, secluded beaches, and the beautiful tree covered hill sides.

Sample the best of the local cuisine, including the world renowned focaccia bread, fresh pesto, and the most amazing local seafood in Portafino. In the afternoon arrive in Camogli, a quaint Medieval village of fishermen and sailors. Lining the shore, you’ll find centuries-old buildings painted in bright hues of pink, yellow, and green. Walk through the village among the fragrant wild rosemary and lavender, citrus and olive trees, under boughs of myrtle and laurel. Take your time and stroll the cobblestone streets and lush nature paths of this sleepy village, one of Italy’s best kept secrets. Return to the ship in the mid afternoon and set sail to Naples

30th July : Disembark the ship in Naples at 1.00pm for our transfer to the airport and our return flight to the UK

Please note the MSC Seaview is a large super cruise ship capable of carrying over 5000 passengers.
