The outstanding Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu features 98 delightful thatched villas, either dotted among palm trees offering peaceful tranquility or on stilts over the lagoon, with spectacular views of the ocean and nearby desert islands.

Nestled amid the island’s lush vegetation, the Beach Villas invite you to relax in a spacious bedroom with high-pitched ceilings, adding extra beauty to the rooms’ interior. The Deluxe villas are complemented with a sunken bath in the open-air bathroom, and a private fresh-water plunge pool on the outdoor terrace. A four-poster bed with mosquito net enhances the romance of the villas making it a perfect getaway for Muslim honeymooners.

For those looking to enjoy their days out and about, various activities are available at Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu. Indulge yourself in a variety of water sports, and other sport related activities such as Table Tennis, Volleyball, Badminton, Beach Soccer, Tennis, board games, and Billiards/Snooker, with a TV room, a library and yoga also available.

We can also arrange a day excursion to a private isolated island with a halal picnic lunch. You’ll have the whole island to yourself for the day to relax and enjoy in privacy. Day excursions start from £95 per person.

Halal food is served for all Serendipity clients, with alcohol removed from your villa. We also ensure your pool is screened for privacy, yet still provides direct access to the beach.

Local languages: The national language of the Maldives is Dhivehi, however almost every Maldivian speaks English which is the language used in all schools. English is also the second unofficial language of the Maldives.

Best time to visit: The best time to travel to the Maldives is during the dry session or between the months of November and April. It’s during these months that you’ll enjoy hot sunny days with calm breezes.

Visa requirements (for British passport holders) : Tourist visas are granted to all nationalities, on arrival to Maldives. This being so, British nationalities and passport holders can enjoy up to 30 days upon arrival providing they hold a valid onward or return ticket. No prior visa is required to arrive to Maldives.

Which airport will you fly in to: Male International Airport, previous known as Hulhule Airport, is the main international airport in the Maldives and the most likely airport you’ll fly into when travelling from the UK or other countries. Being well connected with major airports throughout the world, Male Internation Airport serves as the main gateway for tourist arriving into the Maldives. From here, you'll take a speedboat or air transfer to your hideaway island.

Key Events and Festivals:

Ramadan – Being an Islamic country, the Maldives celebrates the month of Ramadan every year.

Eid Festival – celebrated yearly after Ramadan. During the Eid Festival, which normally lasts for 3 days, tourists will enjoy cultural splendors of the Maldives religious faith alongside feasts of grand meals and get-togethers which are thoroughly prepared throughout the country.

Independence Day – Independence Day celebrates the freedom of the Maldives against Britain in back in the 1960’s. On this special day the islands are filled with lively performances, colourful parades, and lots or delicious foods, cuisines, and festivities.

Must try food:

Garudhiya – A fish broth served with rice, lime, chili and onions. Fihunu mas - Barbecued fish that has been basted with chili, usually served with rice.

Mas huni – Considered the most popular Maldivian breakfast dish, Mas Huni consists of shredded smoked fish with grated coconuts and onions.

Keemia - Deep fried fish rolls.

Bajiya – A pastry that is stuffed with fish, coconuts and onion.
